Safety Construction Manager
Job Summary:
Our Los Angeles County-based Construction Company Client is seeking a full-time Safety Construction Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting safety training through various means to ensure comprehension and compliance with company, customer, and regulated standards. Bilingual Spanish/English required. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Fully supports all IES safety policies, procedures, programs, and federal and state standards.
Conduct safety training and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
Develop and implement safety programs and procedures.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Maintain safety records and prepare reports for management.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of safety equipment.
Provide guidance and support to site supervisors and employees on safety-related matters.
Collaborate with management to develop safety goals and objectives.
Requirements:
Must have 30 hours of Safety, Health, and Environmental Training.
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience; or four (4) years of work experience related to construction.
Work experience must be a minimum part-time (18 hrs/week) to qualify.
An associate degree or higher in occupational safety, risk management, or construction management is preferred.
Completion of a two (2) year trade or union training program/apprenticeship is also acceptable.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Must possess a minimum of five (5) years' experience in construction, including two (2) years of safety training, preferably in the construction industry.
Extensive knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 Standards.
Extensive knowledge and experience with the Confined Space Entry Standards (1926.1200 Subpart AA).
Must have current certification as an Authorized OSHA OTI 500.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
