Director of Supply Chain

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Griffin Groupe is searching for talented manufacturing professionals to join our client company in the food manufacturing industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the materials/finished goods inventorying and purchasing activities.
  • Direct and advise staff engaged in providing records management for department’s services.
  • Plan, administer and control department budget.
  • Prepare reports and briefs for top management review.
  • Develop work policies and procedures to improve work efficiency.
  • Identify vendors of materials and supplies.
  • Evaluate cost and quality of goods and services.
  • Negotiate or oversee the negotiation of purchase contracts.
  • Participate in the development of specifications for products or substitute materials.
  • Review and process claims against suppliers.
  • Oversee training of new and existing staff.
  • Responsibility for food safety and quality.  Must report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
  • Must follow required Safe Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as instructed by Management. 
  • Other related duties as per job requirements.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, commerce, economics or related administrative services is required.
  • 5 years of experience in material or purchasing management are required.
  • Knowledge of GMP and HACCP regulations.
  • Solid understanding of provincial Health & Safety and CFIA regulations
  • Computer literacy is required.
  • Fluency in both written & spoken English.
  • Strong Leadership spirit.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good judgement skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced production environment.
