JOB DESCRIPTION
The Griffin Groupe is seeking an excellent technical sales professional to join our client company’s team.
The North American Maritime Technical Sales position acts as the primary point of contact for customers in North America, but particularly the Eastern Seaboard region and ensures that service standards and performance procedures are met. This position also establishes close working relationships with representatives of marine ports, as well as offers informed decision making and technical assistance in our products and services. The primary product focus will be proximity detection and collision avoidance, private LTE and machine digitalization (machine data).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop strategy to grow market share of sales to North American marine ports
- Share of industry knowledge and introduction to industry contacts to matrixed organization to ensure top line revenue growth
- Sales of all products, systems and services offered by client company
- Introduction of Sales Team and Product Managers to marine port network and existing relationships
- Contact potential customers and provides product or service information.
- Jointly with Product Manager and/or Sales Team, make product or services presentations to potential customers.
- Prepares and/or deliver quotes for products and services to potential customers.
- Work with Product Managers to ensure contact with customer to assure satisfaction with product and/or services.
- Ensure all support services outlined in customer contracts are provided to make certain that customer expectations are met. Perform other functions and duties as needed and/or as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 10 years knowledge and experience with a Marine Terminal Operator, Port Authority or similar.
- Proven track record of sales experience and/or operating experience in marine ports.
- Or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have in-depth knowledge of marine port industry.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have strong analytical skills.
- Must possess excellent planning and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be able to multi-task and function effectively in a sometimes stressful, dynamic environment.
- Must have detailed operational and technical knowledge of terminal handling equipment.
