THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Client is an online media distribution business that owns and operates subscriber-based multimedia content platforms. These platforms distribute digital content such as movies, music, video games and e-books.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent experience
Strong experience and understanding of web / mobile development technologies and trends
Knowledge of web development
Demonstrated experience of increasing market share, increasing conversions, etc.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The product team at our client is growing and we are looking for some seasoned product owners who have worked in an agile environment to join their team!

If you are a product owner who has created intuitive and impactful features on web and/or mobile applications, this may be an exciting opportunity for you to work on an existing fantastic application with internal teams who are determined to make our client a global leader in direct response marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with developers and the internal marketing team to decide what products we need to build up and why we need to build them;
Communicate the vision you have to the team and motivate the team with clear, elevating goals;
Empathize with the user and use data to inform product decisions;
Recognize market opportunities and customer needs to turn our product into one that ‘delights’ users;
Address and resolve issues and blockers.

Some areas you will be tackling:

Introducing new features and UX for our apps and website
Improving our organic marketing on search engines
Increasing our trial to premium membership conversions
Streamlining our back-office software for billing and customer support

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Major in Marketing), Business Administration, or 5+ years Agile Product Owner or Project Management experience
Strong experience and understanding of web / mobile development technologies and trends
Ability to pick up technical and business concepts quickly
Experience working in a medium to large scale App platform
Startup experience
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills
Experience using JIRA to manage product backlog
Knowledge of web development is an asset
