The Griffin Groupe is looking for certified safety professionals to provide and lead safety related services for our client in the construction industry in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner.
The Safety Manager is responsible for enforcing all OSHA and company safety standards as well as providing safety training for staff. Responsible to oversee construction and service projects to identify, eliminate and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage using safety standards and best management practices. Provide safe job sites through strict adherence to OSHA and company requirements. Monitor safety training for all employees and provide instruction, as needed
  • Conduct 10 and 30-hour OSHA courses for employees and other safety training as required
  • Provide regular jobsite safety inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed
  • Issue unsafe acts to employees failing to adhere to safety policies
  • Notify GC or subcontractors when client company employees are exposed to hazards created by the GC or subcontractors
  • Assist in changes and revisions to company safety policies
  • Investigate accidents and make recommendations/changes to prevent further hazard exposure
  • Assist with tool box safety meetings and communication of subject matter to be covered
  • Represent the company in OSHA walk through with compliance officer and rectify any problems identified
  • Assist in collection of information for hearings concerning OSHA citations and act as company representative/witness
  • Research appropriate OSHA standards as applicable and implement applicable action
  • Provide new employee safety training in NE and assist with training in SE as needed
  • Provide electrical instruction through the company apprentice training program
  • Coordinate and participate in regional competitions as a company representative
  • Actively participate in project preconstruction safety review to ensure safety and injury control is adequately addressed
  • Manage pre-task planning and JHA program with project foremen and managers, state, federal, local regulatory and owner/contractual requirements.
  • Additional duties, as required
  • Master trainer with NCCER certification or willing to complete training for certification
  • Current OSHA Outreach training with certification to teach 10 hour and 30 hour OSHA programs
  • Electrical construction experience – 5 years minimum
  • Presentation skills/instruction ability
  • Ability to travel 8-10 weeks annually
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to maintain flexibility in scheduling to meet unexpected occurrences
  • Organizational skills with ability to prioritize when needed
  • Computer literate with skills in Excel, Word and Power Point
  • First aid and CPR certified
  • Due to construction site conditions must be able to bend, squat, climb stairs and ladders.
  • Electrical license
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business or related degree
