Safety Director
Responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating the safety and occupational health component of personnel, materials, equipment, and environments to achieve safety effectiveness for the company.
1.     Assists top management in preparing safety policies and procedures; provides support in implementing these policies and procedures.
2.     Ensures that federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed.
3.     Ensures that OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met.
4.     Monitors activities where accidents could occur, halting any operation or activity that constitutes an imminent hazard to personnel or equipment.
5.     Assists in the activities of the safety committee by providing technical and administrative support.
1.     Performs other related duties, as required.
2.     May supervise clerical person in posting of OSHA log and other administrative work.
  • Bachelor's degree in safety engineering or five (5) years' experience in an industrial company with occupational safety responsibilities required. 
  • A comparable combination of education and experience in an industrial company will be considered. 
  • Strong persuasive skills in dealing with top management and with line managers and supervisors. 
  • Ability to organize safety and occupational health material into lesson plans and present the material to line managers and safety committee effectively.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
  • Certifications such as ASP and CSP are a plus
