QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) MANAGER

RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Supervision of the QA Team including the preparation and delivery of staff performance evaluations, career development activities and regular 1:1’s and skip level 1:1’s
  • Provide general supervision, technical guidance and support to the QA Staff in the analysis, design, testing, and deployment of all quality assurance processes: Certificate of Analysis (CofA), Specification (raw material, customer, finished good), Document Change Notification (DCN), Corrective Action / Preventative Action (CAPA), Audits (customer, supplier, internal, process, 3rd party certification) and other key functions – including monitoring for compliance, trend/tracking, optimization and improvement plan
  • Performance to Safety, Quality, Availability & Cost Savings goals and other QA department goals and objectives
  • Manage department and overall expectations to current, future & desired state through explore, plan, develop and deploy initiatives & roadmaps es to support requirements for People (resources), Process & Systems to sustain current environment while building for future company needs and evolving quality best practices
  • Provides necessary definition, development, and deployment of the quality assurance strategy, addressing all aspects of the Quality Operating System
  • Creates and sustains leading and lagging metrics to demonstrate quality performance across all key measurements defined, with improvement plans related to Quality, Availability and Cost
  • Implements ongoing quality improvement processes working with interdepartmental teams
  • Maintains ultimate responsibility for assuring that all products are defect free and compliant with technical specifications
  • Demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior, professional appearance and attitude while performing his/her job duties and while providing a positive image to both internal and external customers
  • Manages and responds to quality issues - company-wide, customers & suppliers. Delivers root cause, ensuring containment and no future repeats companywide
  • Design and develop reports of the performance of the Quality Operating System and any need for improvement to Senior Management including recommendation proposals
  • Promote the awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization
  • Performs other related duties as directed
  • Supporting current & future needs through governance, infrastructure, systems, coaching/training, metrics, oversight, compliance, escalation & continuous improvement
  • Robust Quality Operating System are established, implemented, maintained, monitored, and continuously improved
  • Work cross functionally with all departments to maintain the quality operating system to adhere to the ISO9001 standard or other quality standards
  • Mentor subordinates and internal customers with interpretation of ISO requirements, SOP requirements, and other guidance documents, as
  • Interfaces with Manufacturing and Customer Service (or other groups) in problem resolution, and continual
  • Responds to customer complaints, inquiries and audit requirements relating to Manufacturing with appropriate sense of urgency and business

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
 
  • 5+ years in a Quality or other related field where Quality is a key attribute
  • Semiconductor, High Tech, Chemical or Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Strong people leadership skills, experience managing direct reports required
  • Strong program and project management skills
  • Strong process improvement/continuous improvement skills
  • Highly organized, effective time manager, able to balance competing priories and can take ambiguous situations and make sense out of them for others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Change Management and influencing skills
  • History of teamwork, collaboration, partnership, and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
  • Deep analytical skills, strong out-of-the-box thinking and a curious mind
  • BS/BA; MBA Preferred or LEAN, Six Sigma (GB or BB)
  • Ability to travel (All US States & International), up to 50% of time
  • Office location at Moses Lake, WA, Milwaukie (Portland), OR, Mesa, AZ or remote (as approved)
  • Regular and punctual attendance is expected to accomplish the critical mission of the department and
  • Maintain physical condition and health to be able to timely perform assigned job duties
